triple_flameGood news, I'm doing random writing stuff again.
My Bastani still won't talk to me, I think Kishan is pouting because I nearly got him killed (he doesn't seem to realise that I'm hardly going to kill off one of my main characters quite this early on!) and Lorelyn (my would-be assassin) is grumpy because she got caught, knocked out and is going to be interrogated...Sheesh why do I put up with this amount of crap from my characters?! Well they'll get around to talking to me at some point.
Meanwhile I've had my Tarot deck out and I've been playing with it for a bit of inspiration, I now have a short story (10,000 words or so) in the works...well, I have all of 500 words of it, most of which needs to be rewritten but that's not the point. The point is that I remember when 10,000 words seemed like a nigh on impossible target and certainly not the sort of goal I would set myself for random creativity. It's dissertation length for heavens' sake! It feels good to have something fresh to sink my teeth into though, and it's letting me get back in touch with my elven side which was starting to feel thoroughly neglected.
On top of all of that it means that my cards are getting some attention again and therefore more likely to speak to me rather than sitting there glaring crypticly when I want some actual information. The only thing I'm still really missing after this week is a little magic in my life, what with all this real world crap I've been remiss in my esoteric duties. Still, spring is rapidly approaching and the time for new starts is creeping up on me again - screw all this new year's resolution stuff, I'm going to be spring cleaning the parts of my life that have been getting burried under mundanity.
