Well that's one of my list of troubles dealt with, the Tribunal for Paul's benefits was today - they also decided that the original Dr was talking a pile of crap and reinstated it after an interview lasting less than 10 minutes. Just from reading the evidence we provided they had already awarded him three of the additional four points he needed!

NaNo is not going great this year, what with work and moving and various other stresses I have considered quitting twice already. I haven't for three main reasons, number one, I'm stubborn. Number two, after bullying Simara into it I can't really back out and number three, I think Paul would disown me! I did get a reasonable amount of work done on it yesterday though, I think maybe I had packed my muse into one of the boxes by mistake and she escaped while we were unpacking yesterday morning. I'm feeling a lot more enthused about it now anyway and hopefully we can set up a writing date for Friday after work...as long as this friday doesn't go the same way as last week...
With any luck I'll get some serious writing done this evening as well and start getting myself back on track. It helps that one of my characters has decided that he talks like Salamander - not intentional on my part but very good for the word count! So far I have two figt scenes in one chapter and another one to come in this. Is it worrying that I have more fights in this than in last years which has a war going on in the background...probably not, this is what I get for playing with demons. At least I now have a direction and a little more insight as to where the plot is going in the immediate future. Body count so far 1 discorporated demon, soon to be 2, and one very pissed off Demon Prince.

I think part of my problem was letting go of just how much I liked last year's novel. I've had to admit to myself all over again that I'm allowed to be crap and just write trash, I'd forgotten how liberating it is. I also have to remember that if I look back at last years word count I didn't really get rolling until the end of week two because of laptops blowing up and things. I'm not really behind, I'm just expecting too much of myself. I need to remember the first rule of NaNo I think, maybe I'll post it up on the computer desk once we've moved. Or possibly to the inside of my laptop case...or both!

Right, enough rambling from me, I'll get a NaNo worthy post sorted out at some point.
Oooh and yay me, I have stuck to the "no Guild Wars until I've hit my word count" rule...alright I haven't even found time to install Night Fall but that still means that I haven't been playing it instead of writing.

Ok, I admit it, I have spent hours on Neverwinter Nights instead. Mainly when I've been depressed as hell because I've stared at a blank screen for hours and the words won't come (good or bad) and I'm thinking of giving up on NaNo this year.

Oh, and no Trebuchets yet but I'm working on it.

glad the tribunal went well, not that anybody was expecting it to go any differently since everyone you guys have spoken to have said the Dr was being unreasonable.

And yay you for sticking with Nano. Its still early days and all you need is a couple of good days to get your word count looking fantastic again. It was looking fairly impressive last time I checked, so don't be down on yourself. As you said, you have been busy and stressed recently which isn't condusive to inspiration and time to write.

Friday still looking good my end, so lets hope work behaves itself
*hugs*

Well I'm keeping my fingers crossed. This morning was reasonably good so with any luck tomorrow will follow the same pattern. I've been slogging away with writing when I can get the enthusiasm but at least the email from Chris Baty made me smile. I've got a reasonable idea of what's happening now at least, which is kind of impressive considering that I still didn't have a plot on the 1st!
