(no subject)
Apr. 24th, 2005 07:12 pmOw!!! I currently have a rather sore shoulder. After picking up my new toy at Maelstrom I figuerd it would be a good plan to learn how to use it, since the weather has been vaguely reasonable today we wandered downstairs and indulged in some sparring practise...What anyone watching thought I don't know, one woman came down to walk her dog and desperately tried to look like she wasn't watching us...
I discovered two things: 1) I am, apparently, better with a fencing type blade (no way is that thing a rapier!) and 2) The joint of my shoulder has a magnetic attraction for swords! This should be helpful, this should mean I know where to block, it doesn't. What it means is that I'm probably going to have a bruise in the morning and I definitly need some padding for next time! It was fun though, and sparring matches combined with swimming should get me nice and fit again fairly fast. I could do with getting some trainers though, trying to keep your weight on your toes is difficult in heals, it's there anyway so you can't redistribute it properly and your body just gets confused.
Ended up going round to Rob's last night, was fun but I could have done with getting to bed a little earlier, my sleep patterns are screwed enough as it is. I did get randomly given a copy of the Faeries' Oracle by J though which was sweet. See she can be really fluffy in small doses and she is a lot more sorted now than she used to be.
Oh, that little rant the other day?...I posted it on my D-X as well so I could show it to someone who doesn't have access here. I had to password protect the entry because I know the subject of said rant checks it obsessively...(Hang on a minute...he said he stopped checking it ages ago 'cos it was all depressing and I never updated!!!)...Anyway, 10 minutes after it went up I get "Oh I see you're password protecting your 'journal' now!" I assume the '' around journal was a pointed dig at the fact that I never update that one anymore; there's a reason I don't update it... I would guess that the entire comment roughly translated to "how dare you keep the innermost details of your life a secret from me when I want to read your diary?!" I post online because most of the time I'm not talking about anything important or I'm ranting about things that are only important to me and the people that are going to read them. If random strangers find my life interesting to keep track on then that's up to them, Lady knows I read enough of them....who needs reality TV?! Just because I publicise most of it does not take away my right to privacy when I want it, that's the POINT of having privacy options on these things...and the reason he's never getting the address to this one!
