triple_flameOk...So I've just been watching Most Haunted, yeah I know it's kinda sad and half of it is probably faked (in fact my other half could probably tell you HOW most of it is faked) but that's beside the point, it's mindless entertainment and you get to look around some stately homes and places that you wouldn't normally see, plus there's the added humour of seeing one of your childhood Blue Peter presenters scared witless and swearing like a trouper!
Anyway, it occurred to me that they have a (supposedly) shit hot medium on there (who can't act to save his life but again I digress) but he gets possessed every other week and needs to be rescued by one of the crew shouting his name until he responds...honestly you'd think that he'd actually take some precautions against getting trapped out of his own body, I mean I'm no medium but I at least realise that a few protections are only common sense - it's all very well letting someone into your body if you invite them but if they just randomly decide to invade then you should have some kind of shielding...Maybe I'm just overly paranoid and would go in loaded for bear and scare them all off but having malevolent entities tapping me on the shoulder all night just isn't my idea of fun! I do have to admit though, I'd love to get on the show just to see if there really is anything happening....
Another thing on the same lines...When your medium has just spent the last half hour telling you that there is something big and gribbly in a room the first thing you should do is NOT hold a seance offering said gribble your energy to prove its existence with! Is it? I mean I could be wrong again here but given the ability to talk with/sense these things isn't it a far better plan to bind them from harming anyone on the mortal plane rather than just throwing energy at them? Ok binding it so it can't do anything else doesn't necessarily make for as good TV as random possessions but.... Anyone else agree with me here?
Ok, end rant now, I just had to get all that off my chest, I guess it just frustrates me seeing people potentially making great big honking messes while I'm trying to deal with gribbles on an astral level as it is.
