Now some of you already know that I've decided to drive myself and those around me insane this year by taking part in NaNoWriMo, I've even managed to spread the chaos by talking

Note the lack of my usual welcome of comments/criticism, there is a reason for this; the point of NaNo is to get 50,000 words written in a month, it's something for those of us who would happilly spend all their time trying to get chapter 1 perfect and abandon anything more to the realms of "some day". All this means that there will be no (well, very little) editing and much of what comes out may well be mindless drivel! If it is, trust me, I will know it. I don't need anyone to point out my spelling errors or horrible grammatical screw-ups until the first of January; by that point I will have had a month to recover and should be at the point where I can bare to look at my scribblings again. Who knows, I might even wind up with something worth developing and submitting to the scary scary world of publishing! Anyway, what I was going to say at the start of this paragraph is that all critiquing will result in the critic being beaten with sticks! It's going to be hard enough not doing any editing as it is without having even more people pointing out where I need it.
Courtesy of many people on the forums (or their sigs anyway) it's likely to be very Brigit Jonesesqe with word count, cups of tea and sanity levels closely monitored in each entry. Now don't panic when I disappear again next thursday and don't appear to resurface until the second week in November, I'm going to be visiting the parental types and will have my laptop with me at all times. There will be a bumper update and then it should slow down nicely into something between 1,500 and 3,000 words a day. If I make my 3,000 in a day then I can think about doing some editing if there's anything that I desperately want to change.
