triple_flameWell the last couple of days have actually been quite successful. I've got myself back on track and am currently at 17,000 words and a few spare. If I can keep up between 1,667 and 2,000 per day I will be well on my way ot winning! It might not sound that much but I'm impressed with myself for sticking with it for nearly two whole weeks and I'm even more impressed that I managed to catch up the 6,000 or so words that I was behind at the start of the week. I'm not good with organisation and I'm just as likely to give up and hide from anything that will remind me of something that I've failed at until I've forgotten about it totally. Either I'm growing up or I just need the aspect of competition to keep me at these things.
I'm now onto chapter 12, they seem to be getting longer as I go along, and things are starting to come together. I can start getting into the juicy but of the plot in the next 10,000 or so words I hope. I've had a few hiccups, one of which happened in a good way. A random throw away character (I don't think you've already met her) who decided that she wanted to become an integral part of the story...Ah well, she has done good things for my word count! Now if only she would tell me whether or not she wants to survive the novel I would be well away!
Enough of my ramblings. It's late and I've spent far too much of my day on the computer, I want to get some supper and think about finishing my packing since I'm (finally) getting home tomorrow. I have a nice little word processing program on my laptop now so I can even get some work done on the train. It will be quite nice really.
